Ponderosa Pine

Ponderosa pine is a Wyoming native and one of the toughest evergreens you can put in the ground out here. Long needles and that puzzle-piece bark make it a good shade tree, windbreak, or shelterbelt anchor on bigger lots. Plant in full sun and well-drained soil, and give it room because it gets big.
